The Flatley Company celebrated the official Opening of the newly redesigned and renovated Lobby at The Schrafftt Center on the evening of Thursday October 20th. Many of the Tenants in the complex along with local Politicians and Dignitaries and the Team involved with the redesign and construction, attended the reception.
Planning for The Schrafft Center redesign began in 2014 with the hopes of revitalizing and reconnecting the building and surrounding campus, while continuing to be a meaningful member of the Charlestown community. Working with renowned Boston design firm CBT, The Flatley Company has spearheaded another grand renovation. With an energetic and spirited refresh of the lobby and public spaces, the Flatley family celebrates Schrafft’s history. The most personal and touching aspect of the project is the stylized wallcovering, an ode to the building’s past and celebration of its most memorable moments. Featuring imagery of the Schrafft’s candy, the local factory workers (many of whom still have living relatives in the area), and the Schrafft’s advertisements, the custom art wall is a reminder of the many hats this building has worn. The redesign of the new Schrafft’s City Center takes the building back to its candy-factory roots, but with all modern office building amenities. A new design that is both “factory chic” and “confectionery contemporary.”
The Waterfront area has also been redesigned and the front area of The Schrafft Center building is currently in the process of being reconstructed with new landscaping and concrete work.
